    08 09/2010 Slideshow Pro Director Mobile now available

    We mentioned back in July that Slideshow Pro would soon offer an HTML5-driven mobile alternative to their superb Flash-powered gallery and slideshow software.

    This is great news as up to now the application relied solely on users machines having the Flash player, effectively locking out all users of iPod, iPhone and iPad due to Apple’s refusal to allow Flash on its mobile machines.

    2009 was an eventful year for team Propeller; on a personal note we were delighted to welcome our first baby (Ava) into the world, while professionally we achieved success at this years’ McFarlane Prize in which we had 3 sites listed out of 6 finalists (for the RedFest, Running Errands and Propeller websites), as well as making the finals of the 2009 Australian Web Awards (for the Anglican Parish of Waterloo Bay website).

    29 09/2008 Propeller Win the 2008 McFarlane Prize for Excellence in Australian Web Design

    Having been shortlisted for the McFarlane Prize for the second year running, Propeller packed up and headed to Sydney for Web Directions South 2008.

    WDS08 was well attended and featured a stellar cast of the net’s finest with over 30 sessions hosted by international speakers such as Jina Bolton, Jeffrey Veen, August de los Reyes, Jeff Croft and Cameron Adams amongst others. WDS08 was sponsored by Microsoft, Adobe, the W3C, Xero, Gruden, 99 Designs, Sitepoint, Molten, Wacom and Opera.

    Following a fascinating insight into Microsofts’ new ‘surface’ technology by August de los Reyes, conference organisers John Allsopp and Maxine Sherrin presented this years’ McFarlane Prize

    As keen scuba divers in our spare time, we at Propeller are passionate about the conservation of our amazing marine environment and are proud to support the Australian Marine Conservation Society where we can with some occasional graphic design work.

    The AMCS is currently campaigning to save our precious sharks from becoming shark fin soup as the result of an alarming new proposal by the Queensland Government to establish a dedicated shark fin fishery in the Great Barrier Reef.
