Lines in the Sand

Propeller were recently commissioned to create a logo for ephemeral arts event ‘Lines in the Sand’. The event takes place annually amidst the beautiful and rugged natural environment of North Stradbroke Island and celebrates art that is made with, for and about the environment.
The client wanted the logo to have a ‘hand stencilled’ effect and to be able to use the logo with a variety of different photographic backgrounds of sand textures. To this end, we created a logo that would work like an overlay, so that it could be placed over any photograph, texture or colour and allow it to show through.
The finished logo has an airy, ephemeral feel, which suits the purpose of the event and the ever changing nature of the environment it celebrates.
