15 01/2010 Looking Forward, Looking Back
And so another year and another decade commences! We hope you have enjoyed the festive season and are back on deck feeling ready to enjoy 2010.
2009 was an eventful year for team Propeller; on a personal note we were delighted to welcome our first baby (Ava) into the world, while professionally we achieved success at this years’ McFarlane Prize in which we had 3 sites listed out of 6 finalists (for the RedFest, Running Errands and Propeller websites), as well as making the finals of the 2009 Australian Web Awards (for the Anglican Parish of Waterloo Bay website).
Working with the RedFest team to create new branding, advertising, brochures and a bold new website to advertise the festival was certainly one of the years highlights. It is always great to work with such vibrant, enthusiastic people and to have a hand in taking a new brand from its initial concept through to its use on brochures and websites, especially for something as fun as RedFest. Be sure to keep your eye out in 2010 for the festivals’ return!
We also took time to re-vamp our own website – a project that had been neglected for way too long, due to our own procrastination in knowing what a mammoth task lay before us. It was well worth the effort and quite cathartic in that it allowed us to strip away the clutter that our old site had collected along the way and develop a cleaner, more user friendly site that presents our services and work in a more organised way. For anyone who is feeling that their vision has become a bit muddied along the way, re-working your website is a great way to gain renewed focus on and enthusiasm for your business.
For Propeller 2010 brings with it a diversity of new projects, new technologies, techniques and styles which we’re eagerly getting our teeth into. We would like to wish you all the very best for the year ahead and look forward to working with you again soon.
