01 12/2011PropellerMail Subscribe Form - Now for Facebook!
PropellerMail users have been able to enjoy the automated process of having a subscribe form on their websites since the service was launched.
With the rise of marketing over social networks many clients are delivering their message and engaging their clients via Facebook. The great news is that with our new app, PropellerMail users can now easily add a subscribe form to their Facebook page.
The process is fairly straightforward > Add the app to your Facebook Page
When prompted simply enter ‘propellermail’ and your account login details.
The subscribe form apps support custom fields and can be managed using designer and client login credentials alike. While theyâre fairly simple, weâve made it possible to change the introductory text, subscribe confirmation message and tab name on your pageâs sidebar.
Making changes to the app
Itâs also possible to change the introductory text and subscribe confirmation message. In addition, you can change the client/list the form is linked to in an account. To do so after youâve initially setup the app, go to your Facebook page, then click the âEdit pageâ button. On the next page, click âAppsâ in the sidebar, then under âSubscribe Formâ, click âGo to applicationâ. You can then go through the setup process again.
To change the default âSubscribe to Newsletterâ tab name on your pageâs sidebar, go through the steps above, but instead of clicking âGo to applicationâ, click âEdit settingsâ. In the âCustom tab nameâ field, add a new name.
To remove the app, go to your Facebook page, then click the âEdit pageâ button. On the next page, click âAppsâ in the sidebar, then click the âXâ alongside âSubscribe Formâ. Then, go to Account Settings in your Facebook account (pictured), click âAppsâ in the sidebar and click the âXâ next to the app again. All account data stored in the app and forms will be deleted and most certainly wonât be stored by Facebook. If you re-add the app, you will be asked to login and create your forms from scratch.
At present, only the page admin who added the app can make changes to a subscribe form (apart from deleting it). If you would like another admin to take control, then you will have to remove the app and all forms first, as per above. Same goes for using the app with another PropellerMail account.
