Steve Jobs 1955-2011
Terribly sad to turn on the news this lunchtime and hear that Steve Jobs has passed away, aged only 56 from a rare form of pancreatic cancer.
“For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.” Bill Gates
Since starting our business in graphic and web design, Propeller have used Macs, first our ‘lampshade’ iMac and G4 Powerbook, later surpassed with a 21” all-in-one iMac and eventually the Mac Pro’s, hooked up using Airport Extreme and Time Capsule. Along the way, we’ve owned several iPods, a couple of iPhones, an Apple TV and recently added an iPad, quite possibly my favourite piece of technology.
Its the attention to detail, user friendliness ‘it just works’ simplicity and of course we can’t underestimate the allure of Apple’s industrial design, that has made Apple one of the world’s most successful companies and possibly the world’s most trusted and respected brand.
As designers, Apple products have made our lives easier, provided us with the tools we use to create great work for our clients and a joy to use.
For all of these things we thank Steve Jobs for his legendary vision and insight.
