Wild Weddings

Following on the huge success of her multi-award winning company Stradbroke Weddings and upon seeing other opportunities in the market, Jeannie Sheppard decided to offer something a little different…

Whilst Stradbroke Weddings has built a strong worldwide reputation for organising and managing weddings of any size and nature, Wild Weddings was created to cater to those looking for more intimate elopements and also for those looking to propose. Wild Weddings offer a range of proposal and elopement packages including transport, accommodation, spa packages and entertainment.

Working with a detailed brief, Propeller developed the Wild Weddings logo and brochures and have just launched the Wild Weddings website which followed the contemporary though soft and minimalist style of the other marketing materials. Stunning visuals have been employed to bring the romanticism and beauty of the North Stradbroke Island experience to life rather than providing a large body of text. Proposal and Elopement packages are presented on single landing pages and allow visitors to quickly and smoothly browse several packages without leaving the page. Legal requirements and information is included to aid interstate and overseas couples looking to elope whilst a stunning multi-album gallery showcases some of the weddings Jeannie has already coordinated.

The site is built using Textpattern, Propeller’s open-source weapon of choice when it comes to web standards compliant CMS’, and provides full management of the site within a simple to use web based administration interface; adding and updating text, images and downloadable files. A database-driven system is used to manage and serve the site gallery.

Wild Weddings validates to XHTML Strict 1.0, using pure CSS for both styling and position and meets the WAI accessibility guidelines, ensuring a positive, easy to navigate experience for all and providing search engines with a cleanly coded, content rich environment to get their crawlers’ teeth into.
