Protrac iD is Australia’s leading designer and manufacturer of long range active RFID tracking tags, receivers and data collection software and are major component suppliers to end users, system integrators, OEMs and value added resellers.
What most readers are probably not aware of is that RFID tags are already in wide use with applications in a large number of industries, from stock, equipment & vehicle tracking to security and patient monitoring in the healthcare industry.
Rapidly expanding into overseas markets, Protrac iD required an up to date website to provide information on and advertise their products in addition to informing current and potential clients about Protrac’s developments, news and appearances at trades shows and exhibitions around the world.
The website features a News portal and Events calendar with venue location and date/time information. In order to accommodate a growing list of industrial solutions, a carousel was used, providing a quick overview and link to the various applications discussed on the site. Site search is provided and users can subscribe to the site’s news & events RSS feeds to stay up to date or subscribe to receive Protrac iD’s occasional email newsletters.
The site is built using Textpattern, Propeller’s open-source weapon of choice when it comes to web standards compliant CMS’, and provides full management of the site within a simple to use web based administration interface; adding and updating text, images and downloadable files.
Protrac iD validates to XHTML Strict 1.0, using pure CSS for both styling and position and meets the WAI accessibility guidelines, ensuring a positive, easy to navigate experience for all and providing search engines with a cleanly coded, content rich environment to get their crawlers’ teeth into.
