The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) says more than 4,000 public submissions into the Moreton Bay zone plan in south-east Queensland want 30 per cent of the bay protected.
AMCS spokesman Craig Bohm says the Queensland Government has received more than 8,000 submissions, with 6,000 saying the bay needs better protection.
He says the draft plan recommends 15 per cent of the bay will be protected but that is not enough.

The AMCS is currently campaigning to save our precious sharks from becoming shark fin soup as the result of an alarming new proposal by the Queensland Government to establish a dedicated shark fin fishery in the Great Barrier Reef.
